Orange Shortcake Biscuits

Maybe my mind and hands are itching away to bake something.... I have been browsing through my recipe books and I haven't had any idea what I should bake... It's already 9pm+ and I need a quick recipe for a quick bake :-p
So I got this Orange Shortcake Biscuits, easy ingredients & quick to bake...

Orange Shortcake Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 150g plain flour

  • 25g semolina flour

  • 1 orange

  • 100g unsalted butter

  • 50g castor sugar

Method:

Sift the plain flour & semolina flour together into a large mixing bowl, together with the cutted butter.

Mix the flour & butter, using your finger tips to rub the butter. Mix well till you get "crumbs-like".

With the orange, get some orange rinds, and mix in together with the sugar.

Add orange juice (abt 2-4tsp depending on your liking), mix them well and make it into a dough.

Make the biscuits into your desired shape using your own cookie cutter.

Bake in a preheated oven of 180 degC for about 12-15 mins.

These biscuits, hmmm...., has an orangey taste, and it is very refreshing. It is also crispy.

Hubby asked me if I have too much orange this time, that's explain why the orange buttercake and now this orange shortcake biscuits... hehehehe!!!

Nic was quite hesitant to try the biscuits as she didn't quite like the orange buttercake I bake last Thursday. But she managed to try one and she LOVES it!!! She even had a few biscuits. even my girlfriend who came over with her kids, love it as well.

A good recipe to keep, and I'm sure the kids will love them as well. ;))
