Strawberry Shortcake

Tomorrow I have a lunch invitation to my girlfriend's house. I was thinking, maybe I can make a cake and bring it there... Since I have been trying all sorts of recipes these past 3 months...


Feeling very ambitious, I went to the supermarket to buy 2 boxes of strawberries as I wanted to make a STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE. I had even went to Four Leaves Bread Shop to see how thier strawberry shortcake was done... :))


My sponge cake.

Sponge cake "skined"
Sponge cake sliced into half.
Put one half on the board.
Put the whipped cream on the top and cover with sliced strawberries.
Top it up more cream and place the other half cake on top.
Cream the whole cake with whipped cream.
Decorate the cake with the sliced strawberries or as desired.
All done and to be chilled in the fridge.

As for the cream, I used 400-500g of whipped cream, 1 tbsp of sugar.

But my cream was rather soft, and it will be best to chill the cake overnight to allow the cream to set in.
