I bought a recipe book about chinese kueh, steam cakes, mooncakes, cookies, etc...
Caught my eye on the yam cake, as I rather like yam cakes, "orh nee"...
It didn't came out quite the way it was... it was rather soft and it was impossible to slice it out in pieces...
So I reckon, probably I did the method wrongly or the methods should be otherwise...
Anyway, all the ingredients like shallots, dried shrips, mushrooms, yam are all based on my "aga-ration"... lol... I guess it just bascially put accordingly to your suit & taste. :-)
